Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient healing art, helping the body to heal
Gentle, yet effective, "like acupuncure without needles."
There is a strong connection between what happens in our exterior reality, and what happens in our interior physical reality and vice versa. One does not effect the other and in this busy day in age we are always being pushed to our maximum which often pushes us off balance. Jin Shin Jyutsu achieves to harmonize the body, mind and spirit so all three are working at the body's optimum levels to feel more relaxed, healthy and clear.
Hello and welcome to my website! I am so happy to introduce you to Jin Shin Jyutsu and my story about how I got started. My mother was a massage therapist and my grandmother was a healer. I came across Jin Shin when I was in my early 20s, when my mother, while working at a hotel, told me a group of therapists were booking the ballroom to hold a healing art conference. She asked if we could get a session and be guineapigs for the class. They said, we normally do not allow it, however this time we will. So my mother and I received our first life changing Jin Shin session.
As it turns out, Mary Burmeister was the teacher of this class. Before I left the class, I made sure to write down the phone numbers and names of the two therapists who worked on me. I had such a release, both crying and laughing and after the session it felt as though I was walking on air!
Seven years later my God daughter Melanie fell ill with kidney disease. She was on a catheter for several months and her weight was down to 50 pounds. The disease was life threatening at this point. My mother suggested we call the Jin Shin Jyutsu ladies to do a session at the hospital. Melanie's mother wasn't happy about the idea of strangers in Melanie's hospital room however told me I could try to do Jin Shin myself. So, I went into the hospital that week and was told to do the "crossing of fingers of toes" flow. Melanie's family joked and said if this works, you are her "fairy" god mother. Well the very next day, Melanie was able to urinate on her own! Whether it was me or the hospital it didn't matter, I had to learn more about Jin Shin Jytsu and I started taking my first courses while in my late 20s.
Jin Shin Jyutsu is a healing art form like acupuncture without the needles.
Jin Shin Jyutsu® physio-philosophy is an art of harmonizing the life energy in the body. Born of innate wisdom and passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, the Art had fallen into relative obscurity when it was dramatically revived in the early 1900's by Master Jiro Murai in Japan.
After clearing himself of a life-threatening illness, Master Murai devoted the rest of his life to the research and development of Jin Shin Jyutsu, gathering insight from a range of experiences and resources, including the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Things). The resulting knowledge of Jin Shin Jyutsu was then given to Mary Burmeister, who brought it to the United States in the 1950's.
Mary Burmeister began teaching the Art to others in the early 1960's, and today there are thousands of students throughout the United States and around the world.
The client is fully clothed and will lay face up on a therapeutic massage table. A consent form will be filled out before the session. A full session involves pulse reading, body reading and analysis. This is when the practitioner can determine a clients "projects." A session lasts on average about 60 minutes.
